Another Reminder Why Being a WAHM is a Blessing

Today I was reminded why working from home is such a blessing. My son was out of school sick today. I didn’t have to call into work and tell my boss I would be taking the day off because my son was sick. Instead I was able to work in between waiting on him hand and foot (he may only be 9 but boy he certainly acts like a man when he’s sick- wanting to be waited on and babied. LOL).

I was able to take some time to hang out on the couch with him too. Monday’s are busy days for me but taking care of my sick son was my main priority for the day and working from home gives me the freedom to push things aside and do them later when I need to. Sure it’s 12:52am and I’m just now finishing up some work but that’s ok because one late night in exchange for being able to spend the day nursing my sick kid is well worth it!

I’m in complete agreement with you. Hope your little man is feeling better today.

That is one of the best things about working from home! Right now my son and I are on a special diet for our health and we’re having some pretty strong die off symptoms.

Basically, we feel like we’re sick with the flu. We’re run down, tired, weak and a bit sick to our tummys…but at least I don’t have to worry about going anywhere.

We’re all hold up in my bedroom, laying on the bed, watching cartoons and I’m working right here in bed. And I wn’t be working very long today.

I hope your little man feels better soon.

I am a Part Time WAHM and I have to totally agree with you on this one. Just yesterday I was able to get all of my work done at home while caring for my 16yo (who is more like a 6month old) when she is ill :)

    Yes, indeed.

Another blessing is when WE are sick. Before I had surgery on my foot and was filling out insurance paperwork, it ocurred to me that I would miss days, maybe even a week or two of work if I was at a job outside the home.

But, I didn’t have to miss any work. Typing on my laptop in bed works. ;)

You’re so right, Tishia! My best friend had issues years ago when she was calling out constantly because her firstborn was always sick from daycare.
